Self-Advocates and Growing

ILADD (Independent Living for Adults with Developmental Disabilities) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Zionsville, Indiana, that provides services and programming in multiple counties in central Indiana. We work with adults with IDD and their families to build and maintain skills that support independent living. Founded in 2019, we quickly grew from 10 self-advocates to more than 190 today. Our mission is to ensure that adults with IDD have access to inclusive communities and relationships that promote purpose and lead to a successful and impactful life.

What is Crossbridge Point?

Crossbridge Point is ILADD’s first independent living community, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Located in Zionsville, Crossbridge Point represents a significant milestone in ILADD’s mission to empower individuals to live independently, build confidence, and engage fully in their communities. This development is not just about housing — it’s about creating a place where self-advocates can thrive, connect, and pursue fulfilling lives on their own terms.

Scheduled to begin construction in spring 2025, Crossbridge Point will feature 16 independent living homes, a community activity center, and a learning home to support skill-building opportunities. Every element of the design has been crafted with inclusion, accessibility, and independence in mind. Crossbridge Point directly addresses the critical housing shortage faced by adults with IDD in Indiana, offering a supportive environment that balances privacy with community connections.

More than just a place to live, Crossbridge Point is a symbol of opportunity, empowerment, and belonging. It reflects ILADD’s commitment to creating real, lasting solutions that open doors for adults with disabilities and their families — helping them achieve greater independence and a richer quality of life.
