Board of Directors
ILADD is led by a highly-experienced and widely-respected team of professionals from across multiple industries, including two self-advocates. The board of directors is supported and enhanced through consultants and advisors with recognized expertise in areas specific to the mission of ILADD.
Thomas Easterday, President
Tom is the father of an adult son with Fragile X Syndrome and is retired from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) where he served as senior executive vice president, secretary and chief legal officer.
John Sima, Vice President and Secretary
John is the father of an adult son with Down syndrome and has more than 25 years of experience in launching successful science-based companies and currently serves as President and CEO of Cogent Scientific.
Jolaine Hill, Treasurer
Jolaine is a native Hoosier and is Business Manager at St Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church in Zionsville. Her previous nonprofit board service included seven years with Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis as treasurer and board president.
Michael J. Andreoli, Director
Michael has been in the practice of law since 1974 maintaining offices in Lebanon and now in Zionsville for the entirety of his practice.
Lisa Batts, Director
Lisa is the mother of an adult son with Down syndrome. She is a real estate agent and the founder of the nonprofit Sunshine Social Club.
Elizabeth A. Coit, Director
Liz has had a long career in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, currently serving as the founding Executive Director of the Walker Center for Applied Ethics at Marian University.
Dr. Katherine Feley, Director
Dr. Katherine Feley, Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana State Nurses Association, leads the advocacy and program efforts of Indiana’s leading nursing professional association. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Indiana Nurses Foundation.
Michael Furnish, Director
Mike served as the President and CEO of Special Olympics Indiana in Indianapolis 2007-18. He started volunteering for Special Olympics in 1973 as a student in college.
Alec Hurtubise, Director
Alec is a self-advocate who attended Zionsville High School where he earned his Certificate of Completion and J. Everett Light Learning Center where he completed the Music and Sound Production class as well as the Culinary Arts Program.
James Merten, Director
Retired business executive; former Vice Chairman of City Securities Corporation. Former chairman of the board of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Mark Plassman, Director
Mark Plassman serves as Vice President for Fidelity’s National Commercial Sales operation located in Indianapolis, IN. He joined the commercial group in 2008 to help grow the local market share and better serve the existing attorney, developer, lender and brokerage clients that work with Fidelity in the region.
Justin Reid, Director
Justin is a self-advocate who earned his Certificate of Completion from Zionsville High School. He has been employed at the Goodwill Store in Anson (Whitestown, Indiana) for over five years.
Katie Shaw, Director
Katie is a self-advocate who went to Pike High School in Indianapolis and got her Childhood Associate Degree from Ivy Tech Community College. She serves on the board of Down Syndrome Indiana and speaks about disability awareness, mostly at schools.
Barb Schroeder, Director
Barb is the mother of an adult daughter with a developmental disability and has significant experience working with nonprofit organizations. She retired from the Community Foundation of Boone County after twenty -four years of serving in a variety of positions.
