The next ILADD Hiking Club hike is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th, at Cool Creek Park in Carmel, Indiana. We will meet at the Nature Center parking area and begin hiking promptly at 1:00 p.m. We will be hiking for approximately two hours. It is a short drive from Zionsville, Lebanon, and the north side of Indianapolis (about 20 minutes), so it should be easy for everyone to attend. The temperature in early December is typically in the mid-forties. So, be prepared for cold weather and possibly some muddy areas.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED: The hike will be limited to the first 20 registrants. Register by emailing us at teasterday@iladdinc.org of your intent to go on the hike by December 1st. If you have not previously completed the registration forms for the ILADD Hiking Club, you must complete and submit those forms by December 1st. For registration information and forms, please contact ILADD at teasterday@iladdinc.org or call (317-873-2134). There is no ILADD fee for this hike.
DIRECTIONS: (from Zionsville) Go east on 116th Street to Meridian Street (U.S. 31). Go north on Meridian Street (U.S. 31) to exit 129 (146th Street/151st Street). Merge into the 151st Street exit lane and turn right (east) onto 151st Street. At the roundabout, turn north onto Cool Creek Park Road and enter the park. We will meet at the Nature Center parking lot. The address for Cool Creek Park is 2000 East 151st Street, Carmel, Indiana.
COVID PRECAUTIONS: Please do not participate if you have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19, tested positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 within the 7 days immediately prior to the hike. We recommend that anyone participating in the hike have been vaccinated and received a booster shot. Masks are optional.
NOTE: While ILADD Hiking Club hikes are generally on the third Sunday of each month, based on input from hikers at the October hike it was decided to combine November and December and move the hike to the first Sunday in December (thereby moving it away from the week before Thanksgiving and a number of events the weekend of November 19th and 20th and scheduling it before Christmas activities get into full swing).
