ILADD Hiking Club

On 9/15 the group will hike at Turkey Run State Park in Marshall, IN (8121 Park Rd, Marshall, IN) just 20 miles from Crawfordsville. We will meet at 12:30 for a picnic lunch (bring your own sack lunch and ILADD will provide cookies and water). We will gather for this event at the Nature Center Parking Lot inside the park. We will have our picnic lunch at 12:30 and then begin hiking promptly at1:00. There will be a $7 per vehicle entry fee to the park. If you would like to be reimbursed by ILADD for the $7 fee, please get a receipt and give it to Tom Easterday. Hikes are typically last about two hours and are 2-3 miles in length.

Please dress accordingly for the weather (possible heat or muddy trails) and bring a water bottle for the hike. Email Tom Easterday at debandtomeasterday@gmail.com to register. Registration is limited to the first 20 registrants and registration is required so that we are aware of all who plan to join us. Parents / caregivers are welcome to participate.

ILADD Hiking Club is for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities who can walk at least 2-3 miles, up and down hills, on uneven ground, on unpaved trails. All hikers should bring their own water bottle. It is recommended that everyone bring a change of shoes and socks for after the hike because it may get muddy if it rains within a day or two prior to the hike.  Also, make sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. The average high temperature for April in Indianapolis is 62 degrees and the average low is 41 degrees. If we need to postpone the hike due to excessive rain or severe weather, we will email or call you two hours or more before the hike is set to commence.


REGISTRATION REQUIRED: The hike will be limited to the first 20 registrants. It is very important that you let us know you will be participating, so we can notify you if we need to change our plans due to bad weather or other circumstances.
