ILADD Family Connect - “Dignity of Risk”

Description: Please join us for another informative evening of sharing and discussion.  Self-Advocates and their parents/caregivers will learn about the “Dignity of Risk” and then break into separate small groups to discuss how self-advocates can achieve greater dignity and independence by learning how to make more choices for themselves while also discussing what safeguards and supports could help them in this process.

Breakout Sessions:  Self-advocates in one room; Parents/caregivers in another to discuss:

• What decisions the self-advocates are presently making

• What decisions they want to start making

• What kind of supports will help them make these new decisions
