DIRECTIONS: (from Zionsville) The easiest route from Zionsville is to take I-65 north to the State Road 32 exit. Go west on State Road 32 to Crawfordsville. Follow State Road 32 through Crawfordsville to State road 47 south. The entrance to Turkey Run State Park is just over 20 miles from Crawfordsville on State Road 47. The total trip from Zionsville is about 60 miles, and takes about one hour and 15 minutes. After turning right to enter the park off of State Road 47, you will come to the park’s Gatehouse. Then proceed to the Nature Center Parking Lot. We will meet in front of the Nature Center.

ILADD Hiking Club is for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities who can walk at least 2-3 miles, up and down hills, on uneven ground, and on unpaved trails. All hikers should bring their own water bottle. It is recommended that everyone bring a change of shoes and socks for after the hike because it may get muddy if it rains within a day or two prior to the hike and the trails go over small creeks.  Also, make sure to bring a hat and jacket if cool or rainy weather conditions are forecast, or a hat and sunscreen if warm or sunny weather is forecast. Since it is mid-June, be prepared for hot and/or wet weather and dress accordingly. If we need to postpone the hike due to excessive rain or severe weather, we will email or call you two hours or more before the hike is set to commence.

COVID PRECAUTIONS: Although masks are optional, we will generally be social distancing before, during and after the hike.  Please do not participate if you have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 within the 7 days immediately prior to the hike. We recommend that anyone participating in the hike have been vaccinated and received a booster shot.
