Description: “Mental Health Awareness and Care” Description: Persons with IDD are more vulnerable to mental and behavioral disorders and are often limited in their coping skills. It is also essential that caregivers are aware of their personal wellbeing while working to care for their loved one. This discussion will be led by an expert on the topic who will share her experience as a clinical psychologist and also a sibling of an adult with IDD. The discussion will be geared to both self-advocates and caregivers with a focus on finding a balance to create quality of life for the entire family. The focus will cover the six domains of quality of life, including physical health, mental health, vocational skills, spiritual wellness, financial knowledge, and relationships.

Register: This event is free and a part of ILADD’s mission to help self-advocates along the path to greater independence. Register by emailing Michele Gray at program.manager@iladdinc.org
