Description: Promoting Independence. Guest speakers will discuss how to promote independence for persons with IDD.  ILADD is focused on helping self-advocates to live in homes of their own and to give caregivers the tools to help them succeed so that they can enjoy fulfilling and meaningful lives in their communities.  We will share ideas on developing a plan to make that independent life a reality and how to set goals and use community resources on this journey toward greater independence.  We also want to encourage families and self-advocates to move from reactive scenarios to a proactive approach by outlining and prioritizing goals and skills to help them succeed. 

Guest Speakers include Kim Harvey, Program Supervisor, Jobs at Best Buddies Indiana and Pam Verbarg, Executive Director of the ARC of Greater Boone County.
