Our next ILADD Hiking Club hike is scheduled for Sunday, February 20th  at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. We will be meeting and beginning the hike at the Lilly Lake Shelter parking area (the same place we parked for the April and June hikes in 2021). Since it is mid-February, be prepared for cold weather and dress accordingly. If we need to postpone the hike due to excessive rain or snow, we will email or call you two hours or more before the hike is set to commence.

PARK ENTRY FEE: $6 At the park’s gatehouse, you will need to pay a park entry fee ($6 per vehicle or $5 per vehicle if you are a Marion County resident. If you would like to be reimbursed by ILADD please get a receipt and give it to Tom Easterday).

REGISTRATION REQUIRED: The hike will be limited to the first 20 registrants. It is very important that you let us know you will be participating, so we can notify you if we need to change our plans due to bad weather or other circumstances. Register by emailing us at teasterday@iladdinc.org with your intent to go on the hike by February 17, 2022. If you have not previously completed the registration forms for the ILADD Hiking Club, you must complete and submit those forms by February 17, 2022. For registration information and forms, please contact ILADD at teasterday@iladdinc.org or call (317-873-2134). There is no ILADD fee for this hike. 

DIRECTIONS: (from Zionsville) The easiest route from Zionsville is to take Zionsville Road (which is Main Street in Zionsville) south to 71st Street. Turn right (west) and go past I-465 and I-65 until you enter the park. Eagle Creek Park is about 15 minutes from Zionsville.

Note: The north entrance to Eagle Creek Park is on West 71st Street (just west of I-65 as you enter the park 71st Street becomes Eagle Creek Parkway).

COVID PRECAUTIONS: Although masks are optional outdoors, we will generally be social distancing before, during, and after the hike.  Please do not participate if you have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 within the 10 days immediately prior to the hike. We recommend that anyone participating in the hike has been vaccinated and received a booster shot.
